Ciney to host Rally 4 Passion Registrations open on March 24th

During the weekend of September 12th and 13th, the Condroz region will again come alive with iconic rally cars at the second edition of Rally 4 Passion. This year, Ciney will serve as the starting point for a route that will navigate through the picturesque Condroz, known as the premier rally region.

Following a successful first edition organized in the spring of last year as part of the Rallye de Wallonie, the Rally 4 Passion team quickly began preparations for this year’s event, which aims to showcase both legendary rally cars and famous rally drivers.

« The feedback from participants and the large audience was overwhelmingly positive, » says Yves Matton, the initiator of Rally 4 Passion. « This was the best confirmation that our concept worked. Legendary cars such as the Audi Quattro S1, several Renault 5 Turbos, and spectacular rear-wheel-drive vehicles featured alongside star drivers like Bruno Thiry and Grégoire Munster in a Ford Escort Cosworth Gr. A, as well as Robert Droogmans driving a Porsche. The excitement was omnipresent, creating a unique atmosphere. »

Ciney to host Rally 4 Passion

After a successful collaboration on the first edition, the Automobile Club de Namur and the Rally 4 Passion team have enthusiastically planned a second event, now under the auspices of the ASAF. “We made the decision to schedule it for the end of summer, on September 12th   and 13th. This year, the epicentre will be in the city of Ciney, the capital of the Condroz-Famenne region,” says Étienne Lerson, president of the Automobile Club de Namur. “Rally 4 Passion is now independent and was looking for a central and accessible location in the Condroz, which we found in Ciney, where we received a warm welcome.”

“Ciney is the perfect launch point for the traditional show trial in Ben-Ahin, near Huy, on Friday evening, organized in collaboration with La Cabane. There will also be a regroup in Huy,” adds Julien Frère, project manager of the Rally 4 Passion team. “Using Ciney as our base, we will travel across the Condroz on Saturday, featuring demo stages at iconic locations such as Goesnes, Marchin, Hamois, and Clavier.”

With a route of approximately 100 kilometres of closed, fully secured demo rides – without any competitive elements – the second edition of Rally 4 Passion will emphasize showmanship and conviviality.
